honestly man, i really am not a fan of 6’s art style. when i first saw it i thought maybe it would grow on me but i just can’t get into it… Street Fighter has been deliberately cartoony since SF2 so i have no idea why they suddenly decided realism was the way to go. i find it so boring compared to how expressive characters used to be 🙁

Remember when 2D fighting games had a distinct visual aesthetic? Street Fighter should’ve gone more in the direction of Guilty Gear with a cel-shaded anime-ish aesthetic than that pseudo-realistic look where it’s indistinguishable from Tekken. The two series shouldn’t even be in the same zip code visually. Just compare Street Fighter III: Third Strike or Alpha 3 to Tekken 3 and they couldn’t be more different. Street Fighter X Tekken was an interesting concept because of that clash of visual styles. Now if they did a crossover it wouldn’t be that way at all.
Street fighter 6 has great graphics I just hate the new buttons that one button does everything takes away the natural game play. Unfortunately all the SF6 gamers that has máster the one button does every thing concept, they struggle playing any of the older Street fighter games because they can not do a simple move

Honestly? I liked how stylized Street Fighter IV got. It didn’t try to be all “Look how realistic and flashy Ryu’s muscles can get!” No, it tried to make the characters be more animated, stylized, more appealing. SFIV looked like it had a certain direction. Meanwhile SF6 looks like they’re just trying too hard to prove themselves superior by looking too realistic.
I don’t know why most video games go for realism/lack of “cartoony-ness” recently (I’ve been noticing this with Capcom especially).
All this is just my opinion though
